Agreed. The second I saw that dress uniform with a Fender Strat, I knew something great was about to happen.
I would say that rendition fell somewhere between rock and Gospel, with a pinch of Country added...but leaning heavily towards Gospel....absolutely yet another great trademark contribution to the music world. Hats off to the black Americans who created and continue to produce it.
Try going to youtube and look at "Gospel piano" it's very complicated to play, extremely talented people.
The singer is fantastic!
Once again agreed, I wonder who she is? Maybe a pilot?
I will also credit the President for unleashing and spooling up the Air Force Band. (and kudos to the tenor player) I was very moved and impressed.
More! More!
“Have a blessed 4th of July/Independence Day, all!!”
Same to you and to all FReepers everywhere!
I still maintain that if we’ve seen this much radical change since 2012, when someone like Minion could get the nomination as a “traditional pol” to Trump, a traditional pol won’t have a chance in 2024. Moreover, a small state female gov will have the Sarah Palin reference attached to her.
I continue to think that with the culture (and education) shifting so rapidly, in 4 more years none but a celebrity can run. On our side, that means a Christian celebrity. And if the numbers keep shifting Trump’s way among blacks, it would likely be a black Christian celebrity, i.e., Kanye. We’ll see.
It’s been interesting that Kanye has more or less ridden out the BLM/rioting stuff without coming out too much publicly. This was wise on his part. The right isn’t there yet, and neither is the black community, but in 3 years, both very well may be. So he has avoided a major pitfall.
She does seem to be an attractive woman on the outside, and just as attractive on the inside if reports about her are true.
....under the heat of the sun no less!
The presidents speech at Mt. Rushmore was spectacular. Absolutely fabulous. Truly historic. One of the most powerful speeches Ive ever heard. I couldnt be prouder.— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) July 4, 2020
Fly over before the landing. He’s here, He’s here...
I agree with Mark Levin’s comments.
The off-the-cuff normal rally remarks by Potus are funny and some make me laugh out loud. This speech was so different. It was a stern, almost war-like in tone, rallying for unity and strength of purpose against anarchy. It was extremely impressive. It was a speech of a true leader.
