I called this a few weeks ago before it was mentioned. So glad our President will be there on July 4

"Don’t they do this every year or so?"

Their traditional economy consists of hunting, gathering, high-stakes bingo and extortion of the federal government.

“It’s long past time for them to stop being First Peoples and start being un-hyphenated Americans.”

They are at best Second Peoples. Probably more like third or fourth.

**It’s the Crazy Horse monument that is on private land if I remember correctly.**

And CH was so disliked by the other chiefs they met with Gen Crook and suggested CH be assassinated. Crook refused.

After the death of CH, no vengeance was taken as the chiefs felt CH had died by his own violence.

Must add, it took white men, back East, to later turn Crazy Horse into some type of Indian Martyr.

Were it not for the Spanish and horses, there would be no Sioux.

They were at best a few clans of buffalo followers, stone age nomads, lost on the vastness of the plains.

The old popular song “Running Bear” was mistakenly thought to be “running bare” by many adolescents.

Running Bear
by Johnny Preston sung on a 45 in June 1959 by Sonny James

On the banks of the river stood runnin’ bear, young Indian brave
On the other side of the river stood his lovely Indian maid
Little white dove was-a her name, such a lovely sight to see
But their tribes fought with each other so their love could never be
Runnin’ bear loved little white dove with a love big as the sky
Runnin’ bear loved little white dove with a love that couldn’t die

"...arguing that it is carved in an area that is considered sacred land to Natives..." That's ironic...we consider it sacred land too.😎

The Left can always a few activists to do their bidding. I wonder how much the ‘tribal leaders’ are receiving in compensation for their loud complaints.

“””That made a lot more sense to me than the “sacred” land BS story.””””

I’ve done work on Indian Reservations all over North and South Dakota and Minnesota.

I have yet to see any “sacred ground” that wasn’t covered in beer cans and trash.

They come up with the sacred ground thing every now and then to get some shakedown cash.

They certainly had their chance back when John Gutzon de la Mothe Borglum was doing the first layouts for the carvings.

Too bad. You lost. Defeats have consequences. It's old history.

With all due respect, Shut Up!

I think I have a solution.

As an honorary member of the Oglala tribe, I suggest they colorize the monuments like they did with old movies. S/

“Nearly all Indian tribes, with a few notable exceptions, fought on the side of the British in the Revolution.”

Most tribes had really bad “luck” when it came to picking sides in the white men’s wars. They often had good reasons for doing so, but they usually chose the losing side. In the French & Indian War, most sided with the French, they lost. In the American Revolution, most sided with the Brits—they lost. In the War of 1812 many tribes sided with the Brits—which did them no good whatsoever. And in the Civil War, most tribes sided with the South.

“Native tribal leaders are calling.........(blah, blah, blah).........”

They cannot dare use one word: “some”.

They always claim general identification of an entire group, by never saying “one”, “two”, “three”, “twenty” or even just “some”.

By using no value to weigh just what representation a group has within a larger group, the general assumption of the general sheeple is “all”, and the authors know “all” would be a lie, but “all” is what they want the sheeple to assume.

"Hang around the fort" Native (not really) Americans put ear to ground and hear Gravy Train coming.

Got that phrase from an "Indian" lamenting the fact that most modern Indians are descendants of the drunken free-loaders living outside the Calvary posts.

This ought to get me cancelled!

“The American Indians were stone-age savages who had not yet developed the concept of “sacred.””

It’s true, if I remember correctly, they had yet to realize the concept of the wheel.
