The English did indeed offer freedom to slave who came to their side. But then so too did the Continental Army. But when Cornwallis was under siege at Yorktown, he forced the blacks from his camp to save food for his soldiers.

The English did take freed slaves with them to Canada and later offered to resettle them in Sierra Leone.

I haven’t run across a Continental Army offer. Was that issued by the Continental Congress?

The 2nd Royal proclamation, Philipsburg Proclamation, didn’t require slaves to fight for the King. They gained freedom by simply running away to the British lines.

I’ve wondered why BLM doesn’t escalate their condemnation of America to include the Revolution itself, demanding that we surrender to Queen Elizabeth and apologize for 244 years of illegal secession.
