“Republican senators are debating whether Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States . . .”
In the first place, Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the Confederate States of America, not the United States of America.

They’re better off saying absolutely NOTHING rather than opening their mouths and proving what vapid pandering political whores they are. I’m as sick of them as I am of the left.

For Federal holidays you’re probably correct because no person is perfect enough to please everyone.

I would also apply that to Navy Ships as well. It’s too politicized now.

Sheer lunacy, these so-called GOP leaders believe they must come up with a cure of a non-problem, invented by enemies on the other side, who laugh in their face masks at the GOP woosies!

A federal holiday to commemorate the end of slavery is legitimate.
The MLK holiday was done which is encompasses that and Civil Rights (anti-Democrat) victories.

What they prove is what leftist ideologues they really are, just like was predicted to happen in the late 1950s in The Naked Communist and The Conscience of a Conservative and probably many other publications of that age.

My dad felt the way you do: “Remember people on stamps; celebrate anniversaries.” I agree with ya both.
To: rintintin
My bet is that 95 percent of people never even heard of Juneteenth until this year.

They do realize it wont matter... you can give these groups everything they ask for, will get no credit for it, will still be hated for it, and they will just demand even more...
So you can make it a holiday, but dont expect it to end or change anything..
To: rintintin
This is a result of having NO leader in the republican senate. A total failure of Mitch McConnell, the idiot that thinks he is the leader of the majority but can’t do anything more than worry about Putin joining the G-7 while the country burns!. He needs to retire or maybe he is so disliked that Amy wins in November.
Hopefully we can sacrifice him and Linda while still keeping the majority.
