Some University of Wisconsin-Madison students of color want the university to remove one of its most iconic landmarks, a statue of Abraham Lincoln, because of what they see as the former president’s anti-indigenous and anti-Black history despite Lincoln’s legacy of ending slavery in the U.S.
Two student organizations, the Black Student Union and the Student Inclusion Coalition, pushed for the statue’s removal in early June, days after George Floyd died in Minneapolis police custody and protests erupted nationally over racial injustice.

I don’t think they ever would have been slaves in Wisconsin. This “America had slaves” stuff obscures the fact very few Americans ever had slaves, slavery was illegal in the North, and many of the Founding Fathers hated slavery.
Never mind that lots of people from Wisconsin and the North fought and died, under Lincoln, to end slavery.

The students are NOT in charge.
They are there to learn about school subjects and life.
Universities and college that acquiesce to student ‘demands’ are not doing them any favors, they are doing them harm.
They are supposed to lead them, not kowtowing to them.
I thinks parents should get together and force the resignations of the school presidents and deans that go along with this nonsense.

History is not your friend here. The Partition of British India into India & Pakistan happened in 1948, the two countries are NOW, either fighting with bullets or in an enflamed cold war. India's 2nd largest population in Islamic at 14+%, a growth of near 5% since the Partition. In Pakistan, Hinduism is shrinking and is slightly under 2%, just ahead of Christianity at 1.5%.
Forced partition and migration will not work, it is a nightmare, not a solution!
