I wrote that too, but felt it was in bad taste as to what had happened to the young EMT
“Coonery? Never heard the phrase”
Consider this today’s vocabulary lesson.
Be careful. It might be one of those words only blacks can use.
Oh, thats a given!
Probably just as well most don’t know of shine, spook, ‘Ethiopian in the Fuel Supply’,
of course
I(we) CAN’T get upset at mick, mackerel snapper, coal cracker, drunk, leprechaun, mucker, NINA(no Irish need apply), Dogs and Irish keep off the grass, bunch of references calling Irish n.....s of one sort or another.
ALSO, the Irish were the ONLY race/sec/clan/group not vindicated or given legitimacy in ‘Blazing Saddles’.
Where do we apply for OUR reparations?
Partisan Media Shills update.
I’ve been on a search for Coon Cheese for the last month.
Nobody seems to have it.
I believe there’s a conspiracy to deprive the public of a very tasty Australian dairy product.
It may be because of the cheese’s name, so I’m circulating a petition to have Coon Cheese renamed Freedom Cheese.
Who wants to sign it?
“Where do we apply for OUR reparations?”
Seriously, things like affirmative action are reparations.
I remember the Ethiopian jokes but can’t remember one. If I could I wouldn’t put it in here. We don’t want Ethiopian-Americans to get any ideas.
That's Haile Selassie of you.
LOL
I went to Uurban Dictionary and got this!
www.urbandictionary.com define term=coonery
Generally, a large (broad, tall, or buff) attractive man, who tends to be not very bright, but usually extremely nice and respectful. Think Kronk from The Emperors ...
I believe WC Fields used it in a movie???
as a ‘popular’(for the times) replacement for a statement that meant there was a hidden fact or two...
Friend of mine owned a bar and kept using the term ‘Dog and pony show’ and us ‘old’ USN/USMC types would laugh at his usage of it - a TRUE example of Chris Plante and his ‘people using words that they have no idea of what they mean’.
I pulled him aside on day and asked if he had ever been to Tijuana or Olangapo in the Philippines and he said no so I did go on to explain to him the meaning of a ‘dog and pony show.
I don’t believe he ever used the term again at least not in the way he had been.
No problem, I should have open ended my comment and not tied yours to mine. Sorry to offend, it sucks how society sorts itself out sometimes and there is no happy ending or peace.
Beyonce’s mom. Entrepreneur.. No storefronts to get burned down but still has skin in the game, so to speak.
I wonder if HSN or QVC ask ‘celebrity family’ members to tread lightly so they sell more stuff?
I believe you are talking about a donkey show, or some other colloquialism not in common use regarding a dog and pony show...
The only definition of dog and pony show that I have ever known to be in common parlance is thus:
dog and pony show
noun
informalNorth American
noun: dog and pony show; plural noun: dog and pony shows
an elaborate display or presentation, especially as part of a promotional campaign.
“the department never really had a chance to get its dog and pony show under way”
It’s a black thang. You wouldn’t understand.
Professional race baiting pig Oafrah Winfrey is now getting involved in this deifying Breonna while of course conveniently forgetting to ask why Breonna was involved with drug dealers..
