Trump predecessor may divide long-awaited presidential memoir into two volumes because his literary skills are that good.
Former president Barack Obama has been "working" on his third memoir for several years. In that time, his wife, nutrition extremist Michelle Obama, has authored and published her own internationally best-selling memoir, Becoming.
For whatever reason, Barack appears unable to tolerate his wife's literary success. He has expressed an almost pathological level of annoyance at Michelle's ability to complete a memoir in under two years. It was a sore subject in 2019, when the Atlantic published a (sort of) preview of Obama's forthcoming tome, but with few details beyond the fact that the former president was struggling to keep it under 1,000 pages.

An average book page has about 250 words. If you have a good subject you should be able to knock that out in 30 minutes. After 365 days, you have a 365 page book. Of course, then there is the editing.....
That must be his “half white systemic racism” surfacing.

I’ve read parts of Michelle’s college thesis. She has mediocre writing ability.
I think you’re being kind to Michelle. I read large sections of the thesis too and thought it was a joke, like a 9-year old wrote it. The fact that it was an Ivy League thesis was absolutely absurd.

Obama is a great writer? Like when he wrote about “my stains on his stains”? Yeah, a regular Shakespeare.
Given his narcissism, why doesn't this surprise me at all?
I can’t say I blame him.
After all the nullification to his legacy by Trump, he won’t have much to write about, while Michelle will have more about being first ‘lady’ to a Kenyan communist who was shoved down the throats of the American people.
Besides that, there is the problems that come from two men trying to outdo each other in trying to be the head of the household.
Christopher Hitchens also read her thesis, and said it was written in “no known language” (or something like that). He found it to be illiterate.
I know I’ll get flack for this—but it can’t be helped. A lot of the problem with American kids can be traced back to sugar. They’re getting way too much of it. Long before they get their first drink of alcohol —the kids are having their moods jacked up and down by sugar —all day long, every day. seven days a week, month after month year after year.
Then of course, alcohol is just a reformulation of sugar.
Michelle knew something about this. And tried to make a change in the school lunch programs. imho she is responsible for the one good thing to come out of the obama administration.
“She had a ghostwriter,” Obama reportedly admitted to a friend who inquired how Michelle put her work together so quickly. “I am writing every word myself, and that’s why it’s taking longer.”
The Times story describes the former president as “a deliberate writer prone to procrastination.”
It’s not the first time that reports have emerged of Obama comparing his literary achievements to those of his wife. The former president “is feeling competitive with his wife,” Edward Isaac-Dovere wrote in a Business Insider story from May 23, 2019.
“Sources note he’ll occasionally point out in conversation that he’s writing this book himself, while Michelle used a ghostwriter,” Isaac-Dovere continued.
The Atlantic first reported that Michelle Obama had used a ghostwriter for her memoir and, quoting anonymous sources, suggested that Obama was “feeling competitive” over the book’s overwhelming success.
