Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police are again in the spotlight after a Facebook video was posted that shows a Buffalo officer verbally abusing a woman as other officers attend to a man outside a 7-11 store in the city.
Sources in the department tell WBEN there is an internal investigation now underway into the incident caught on video and Lieutenant Michael Delong has now been suspended without pay.
In the video, which contains extremely vulgar and obscene language, Delong asks the woman recording with her cell phone if the vehicle she is near is hers. The woman was asking the officer if so many officers needed to be dispatched to deal with what she claims was a man under the influence of drugs.
As Delong and the woman interact, he calls her a vulgar obscenity as she cotninues to record the incident. "Thank you. You're 'gonna' be viral," she exclaims to Delong.

Because people like you make the officers feel threatened. If only one shows up, he could be in serious trouble. Safety in numbers, lady.
If that cop were smart, he would retire with his pension and benefits and then take a high paying job in the armed private security industry. He will make much more money. The only problem is that he will probably be employed by some wealthy, hypocritical left wing lowlife who he will loathe.
In a lot of these incidents, everyone acts like a jerk.
Frustrated cop loses control and the ******* **** wins!
I know it’s hard, but don’t play right into their hands.
She had every right to be recording. She was not interfering and was well away from the officers. This officer for no apparent reason came over to harass her.
I don’t think he should be fired. An official reprimand added to his file and other punishments as necessary. Public apology to this woman and the community would be good.
Sadly there are people in this world who think their only purpose in life is to push teachers and lawman over the edge.
Sorry, but that cop was in the wrong. The woman looks like she was videoing the incident from a decent distance. And she was quiet. The cop walked up to her and tried to intimidate her. And the cop started with the vulgar language, not the woman. It was a very stupid thing for the cop to do.
He deserves some unpaid time off.
Watch the video.
At least until the largely unprovoked cop calls her a ‘f***ing c*nt’.
This is one of the guys giving cops a bad name.
> This is one of the guys giving cops a bad name. <
Right. The cop started that whole mess. The woman was quiet until he walked up nose-to-nose with her. And the woman was polite even after he called her a vulgar name.
I hope that cop was just having a bad day. Because if he acts like that all the time, hell be doing just what BLM wants him to do - making the police look bad.
Hmmm...maybe the lefty lowlife could have an "accident"; then another lefty lowlife, and another...
A lieutenant, no less. Supposed to be a leader.
Has the Buffalo mayor learned to not comment on these reports before he has all the facts, yet?

I made the mistake of getting hooked on YouTube videos of people messing with the police. Im amazed at the number of cops who will let themselves get baited. This guy was an idiot. If someone is not breaking the law a police officer can approach, thats fine. But when the other person expresses any desire to be left alone, the police officer should disengage. Frequently, almost constantly, their egos wont let them, and they end up looking very foolish by the time the interaction is over. This police officer had no reason to approach this girl, and she was smart enough to know it. Being a jerk to the police is not a criminal offense, and should not be in a free country. And the police officer started the whole confrontation.
I watched the video. Everyone was acting like jerks. People have their limits ... and she was pushing those guys to their limits. Did he use foul language? Yep. Would he have if she wasn’t provoking him?
A-hole earned his suspension. I hope he’s fired.
You have very serious issues if you think she did anything that warranted a man, any man saying what he said to her.
Didn’t say it was warranted. That kind of talk rarely, if ever, is. Just saying that just about everyone in that video was being a jerk.
