After I retired from the Army, I worked for the FBI for a few years and I was knee-deep into the Mena/Barry Seal/Bill Clinton/Park-O-Meter/Maquinaria Internacional/BCCI/etc., etc., etc., investigations - until, that is, Attorney General Janet Reno ordered our records purged of all references to Mena. It wasn’t just about drugs and Bill Clinton wasn’t the only politico involved.
The CIA imported Cocaine in to Mena and then distributed it to big American cities like Saint Louis and Chicago. They then used the money to finance the Contras in Nicaragua.
It was ok’d by Billy Boy Clinton and this is why the feds have protected Bill & Hill for decades as those responsible like Ollie North do not want it leaked.
The Clinton crime syndicate thrives still today.

Seal did not have to be “employed” by the gubmint.
The deal could have been that the Intel facilities would maintain and gas up his planes, he’d fly the weapons and ammo down and then return with full loads of coke and get a pass as he loaded up trucks and drove off as agents turned a blind eye.
A salary? The safe “high” drug profits were the payoff.
Not to mention that X42 had a taste for the stuff. Reportably.

This is a blast from the past. Lots of really dirty stuff was going on in Arkansas back in the day. Drugs were only a part of it. Can’t recall having seen Barry Seal’s name in more than 20 years.

years ago when I was young and stupid I cheered on the fact that Oliver North got away with shredding and burning everything related to Iran contra. today I am more cynical and believe that Oliver North is probably guilty of other crimes besides selling arms to raise money for a insurgency congress refused to fund. because Oliver North was successful in getting rid of evidence and had cover from politicians we will never know what other crimes were going on a the time
