Good object lesson tonight.
The “killer flu” has a survivability rate of @ 98.5%
I went out to the car and being raised by a hunter, noticed the slightest movement where there should not have been one.
Walked closer and saw fur half covered in leaves, by a downed tree.
Thought a cat was dying in my lane.
Another two steps closer and the ears popped up.
Raccoon, flailing about and furiously biting its own ass end.
Now I’m less than 7 feet away and it stops biting itself and starts to try and drag itself towards me.
Rabies.
100% fatal.
Everything is relative.
Not worried about the “killer flu” when I have rabid animals in my damn lane.
Neighbor came up to see what the shooting was about and told me he found a dead coon in his yard last week and the guy across the road saw one staggering around his yard, as well.
[why he didn’t shoot it is beyond me...is the one I killed the one he didn’t bother with? If so, thanks a LOT]
