"These officers drove into our protest after we walked past their vehicles. They did not need to drive past us for emergency purposes because they had other officers on the other side ready. This was a clear act of aggression."

Thing is, these douchebags surrounding cars and beating on them are encouraging mob behavior. It is what they want.
When that happens, someone smashing a window or setting the vehicle afire is inevitable, and when that happens that verifies that the out of control blood-lusting mob is in IN control and YOUR life is in danger.
At that point, you do what you need to in order to survive, and if your family is in the vehicle, you don’t stop until the vehicle becomes incapacitated, afire, or its protective integrity is broken and people are being dragged out by the mob.
The mob doesn’t care if its own participants are killed or injured. Those are just so many eggs to be broken to make a mob omelette, and have meaning only in the sense they can be used to inflame public sentiment. They actually WANT their own people to be injured or killed.
For proof of this statement, one can look at the likes of the Chicago Seven, led by Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin who knew what was in store, and fomented the riots that ended in violence. They made the calculation (as all Leftists, Marxists, and Alinskyites do) that the personal harm to innocent people (including dumb ass liberals who want to do no more than use the riots as a way to virtue signal that they are ‘down with the cause’) is worth it.
Not only is it worth it...they WANT it to happen.
So, when twenty of them are crushed and killed under the wheels of a vehicle driven by a panicked driver, I place every single person who was present at that riot as culpable, and possibly guilty of First Degree Murder of their ignorant or malicious. brethren.
Oh well. Don’t jump in front of cars, esp. cop cars and start pounding on the car screaming and maybe you can live. Hope not, but maybe....
I’ve not seen any identification of the police officer yet. I wonder if he or she is someone that CNN would identify as a ‘white african american.’
Let’s see...police car with lights and sirens on. Going down a public road that was blocked by people who surrounded the car, jumped on it and were on the edge of overturning it and vandalizing it and probably killing the cop. Right move by the driver.
The driver should have backed up and made another run. The first was just a training exercise.
Self-defense while driving is becoming a preferred method of dealing with rioters.
In a nearby community, a person armed with a truck drove through a mob of howling fascists. The police arrested the rioters, charging them with criminal damage to a truck and rioting.
