I admire them for their willingness to stand up and let the “peaceful protesters” know they should stay away.

That said, I’m sorry, but these two tubby’s look silly with their guns. They would have been much more threatening had they been on the roof. Always employ direct fire from the highest point available. Just my $.02.

Well, technically, plunging fire is not as effect nor does it create as wide and deep a beaten zone as grazing fire. When confronted with 50+ threats, the widest most likely to hit method of fire is going to be desired. Of course, we are talking the need for a FPF ( final protective fire) situation wherein your weapons are expected/needed to be going cyclic, not semi-auto/sustained or rapid fire ( sustained for the M16 family is 15 rnds per minute, rapid is 60 rnds per minute and of course, unless you possess one with a happy switch, then that’s 550-650 RPM.).

As to protection, your are correct, getting behind cover ( stuff that stops bullets) is preferred. Putting on Level 3 armor ( available for the price of a weekend at the lake) is smart.

Confronting a crowd at CQ distance in a hubby/wifey team is not a good prospect, as once the situation devolves into chaos, you’ll be quickly overwhelmed and killed by blunt force trauma. Even if you get off 20 shots, they’ll still win.

I applaud their pluck, but they need to pay for some serious training, or as a pair of lawyers, hire some.
