MD Regulated Firearm Applications, Licenses and Permits database was down til June 24

AT ABOUT 8:30 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 24, 2020, THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND CORRECTIONAL SERVICES WAS ABLE TO RESTORE THEIR DATABASE SYSTEMS TO A FULLY OPERATIONAL STATUS. THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE LICENSING DIVISION (MDSPLD) STAFF IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO ADDRESS THE BACKLOG OF REGULATED FIREARM PURCHASE APPLICATIONS. EMPLOYEES WORKED THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT AND WILL CONTINUE TO WORK AROUND-THE-CLOCK TO CONDUCT FULL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS ON ALL APPLICANTS. THE PROCESS TO COMPLETE ALL APPLICATIONS ON FILE IS EXPECTED TO TAKE SEVERAL DAYS, EVEN WITH THE AROUND-THE-CLOCK SCHEDULE.THEREFORE, WE ASK FOR YOUR CONTINUED PATIENCE AND ENCOURAGE ALL REGULATED FIREARMS DEALERS (RFD) NOT TO TRANSFER FIREARMS UNTIL BACKGROUND CHECKS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.​

Yeah, handgun.
Spoiled once I got to NM, picked up 3 revolvers in 1 hour at 2 shops including driving time.

Isn’t that kind of stupid?

I mean, aren’t most of the MASS murderers using longarms?

Or, are they more concerned about common thugs, who carry “handguns” almost always?

Which is it they worry about? I thought worried about MMs because they sure defend the thugs in common crime inside cities.
