Hydroxychloroquine

Professor Harvey Risch, M.D., Ph.D., is a researcher at the Yale School of Public Health with a specialty in cancer etiology, prevention and early diagnosis, and epidemiologic methods. He recently surveyed research on the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, and zinc, concluding that they should be made widely available for use in the pandemic.

In explaining his findings, he noted that COVID-19 causes two different diseases. First is a nasty upper respiratory infection, and then it morphs into viral pneumonia. He only looked at studies where the treatment was given early in the onset and found it was effective. Specifically, he recommended it be given in the first five or six days of symptoms, especially to those over 60 or with a preexisting condition.

As many clinicians using the drug combination have been asserting, it is effective in preventing progression if given early and outpatient. Several have reported that even if a patient has mild shortness of breath, it reduces the severity of the illness.

From the abstract of Dr. Risch’s article in the American Journal of Epidemiology:

Early outpatient illness is very different than later hospitalized florid disease and the treatments differ. Evidence about use of hydroxychloroquine alone, or of hydroxychloroquine+azithromycin in inpatients, is irrelevant concerning efficacy of the pair in early high-risk outpatient disease. Five studies, including two controlled clinical trials, have demonstrated significant major outpatient treatment efficacy.

Thanks for the common sense article. The death rate leveled off over a month ago and shows no “second wave”. The number of people “infected” has always been many times as high as the official numbers showed. The left wing media and Democrats have figured out how to use this fact to manufacture a “second wave” through increased testing now that the tests are available to anyone who wants one.

In the town that we live in a nonsensical “train to nowhere” was constructed. The transit authority was being criticized for wasting hundreds of millions of dollars on it. They changed their policy and started encouraging street people to ride it for free. At every stop they would count the number of people on the train and count them as a “trip”. There were about a dozen stops in a round trip. So every street person who sat on the train all day to escape the elements was generating a 100 or so statistical trips for the transit agency. They were able to claim that ridership was up and they were providing tens of thousands of free rides to low income people.

We currently have a similar situation going with covid-19 testing... when someone who tests positive for Covid-19 is found they test them repeatedly for free, and each positive is counted as a new case.

The death rate has not increased at all in the past month, it has leveled out... it is getting harder to fake the numbers by that measure.

It has been frustrating to see the constant focus on case count. The way it is being reported by the MSM (....we set another record today...) shows how stupid and corrupt they are. Same with many of our fellow citizens.

Can we please look a little deeper?
Hospitalization rate, death rate, and percent that recover or never experience severe illness.

From what I’ve tracked since March, week over week death rate has been declining since a peak at about April 20.

Not diminishing the fact that people have gotten sick and died, we are getting the same stupid, biased and corrupt media reporting.
