Vice President Mike Pence has canceled his campaign trips to Arizona and Florida due to concerns over COVID-19 as the states experience spikes in coronavirus cases.
A spokesperson for President Donald Trump's campaign confirmed to USA TODAY the events, which included stops as part of Pence's "Faith in America" tour, were canceled "out of an abundance of caution" as cases climb in Florida and Arizona.
On Tuesday, Pence was scheduled to give remarks at a "Faith in America" event in Tucson and to meet with Gov. Doug Ducey about the COVID-19 response.
Pence had planned to travel to Florida on July 2 for a bus tour, meeting with Gov. Ron DeSantis about coronavirus, and to deliver remarks both at a "Faith in America" event in Sarasota after touring Oakley Transport Inc. in Lake Wales.
The two states have seen record numbers of cases as the nation experiences spikes in several states. The United States reported a second day of record cases Saturday.
Florida announced 9,585 cases Saturday, and Arizona announced 3,591 cases.

I can tell you in Baton Rouge there’s a food give away nearly everyday.
The local food Bank, Council on Aging(old Marxists) some churches & a few private companies have had giveaways.
What’s interesting is they only go to black neighborhoods. I never see them in white low or middle class neighborhoods.

The scheduled events were part of the campaign’s “Faith in America” tour, targeting evangelical voters. They included a stop in Tucson on Tuesday, and a Florida bus tour Thursday with appearances in Sarasota and Lake Wales at an event organized by the pro-Trump group PAC America First Policies.
An official statement:
