Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R), who has long insisted voters should decide whether to remove the Confederate emblem from the states flag, said for the first time Saturday that he would sign a bill to change the banner if one is sent his way. The legislature has been deadlocked for days as it considers a new state flag, he wrote in a Facebook post. The argument over the 1894 flag has become as divisive as the flag itself and its time to end it. If they send me a bill this weekend, I will sign it.

Governor: So where are the leftists rushing over to kiss my face and hug me and stuff money into my pockets? C’mon.
Must be the Covid scare.
Clearly a Haley Barbour country club Republican.
Pretty soon, there will be something “racist” found about every state Flag.
And then, the US Flag, itself.
The Barbour Boys run Mississippi......just ask Thad
Like poor people, God must have loved them because He made so many of them.
Put it on the ballot and let the citizens vote for the change if they want it.
The Republican Party is not going to defend anything. It’s time people stopped coping.
People are going to have to defend their own heritage and monuments.
We’re screwed when even a republican governor from Mississippi caves so easily.
It’s all about being to recruit college football players.
We have Trump and that’s it. You see these Republicans? Are they effing clueless? THIS IS BEYOND THE CONFEDERATE SYMBOLS!!
Has this #()#$ idiot turned on his TV?
What did the pre 1894 flags look like.? Maybe one of those would suffice?
I think that’s a big part of it. Remove the flag and now we can finally beat Alabama!
Even die-hard Trump supporter, Mike Leach, wants the flag to change.
Word was getting out that there was a lot of pressure being put on players not to play for Ole Miss or State, we’re talking families being threatened.
Next, will be getting rid of the “Rebels”.
His initial instincts are correct.....Any change belongs on a referendum.
If the Republican dominated legislature votes for the change though, wth, sign it. It’s not a hill worth dying over.
Nonononono, a thousand times no!
Never mind. There was no official state flag between the civil war and the current flag; so they are stuck with thinking of a new one. Id like to suggest something that refers to the musical heritage of MS, but with my luck that would be more disunifying than harmonizing, as it were.
You are missing the point. It is appeasement. nothing they do will be good enough. They will always return for more and more.
flag with a garage door with a hand loop
and a bunch of snowflakes pointing and crying at it
