Paris (AFP) -- French cosmetics giant L'Oreal announced Saturday it was removing words like "whitening" from its products, against the backdrop of global anti-racism protests.
"The L'Oreal Group has decided to remove the words white/whitening, fair/fairness, light/lightening from all its skin evening products," the company said in a statement.
Several companies -- including L'Oreal -- have been criticised recently for skin-lightening products after the global rise of the Black Lives Matter movement following the police killing in the US of African-American George Floyd last month.

What are all those skin bleaching cream products going to be named now? You know the ones minorities use to look lighter, appropriating white people skin? Saltine cream?

You can’t make this stupidity up. Next thing you know Breyer’s will apologize for making vanilla ice cream.
Just think of all the money Michael Jackson could have saved.
Was looking for the blue “Babylon Bee” link myself, I must admit.
Well, if there’s White Privilege, then don’t stop people from turning White so as to collect on their Privilege! If White is so favored, and so privileged, then by all means let people join the favored crowd, lighten their skin, and start raking in the riches!
Let them enjoy their newly elevated status as top tier citizens by being denied jobs, beaten senseless for walking on the street, fired for not having posted words of praise for blm and paying full tuition in college.
This is world class stupid.
Look at the birds outside. Would they notice what L’Oreal is doing, even if L’Oreal did it in front of their faces? Neither will the customers of L’Oreal.
Don’t they know that skin lightening is perhaps the most important selling point of makeup around the world?
So now will all of the people with the surname White be required to change it?
Tell that to Michael Jackson.

“.... police killing...”
When the trial for the charged officer is completed, he should start the lawsuits. And anyone that said he killed someone should be guilty of slander and/or libel. The officer that held him down was not the reason he died. He died of an asthma attack brought on by the use of fentanyl that provides the following effects on the body/brain:
extreme happiness
drowsiness
nausea
confusion
constipation
sedation
problems breathing
unconsciousness

No doctor with any intelligence would prescribe this to an asthmatic. It is an invitation to an asthma event. He took it illegally along with meth and when his body failed him, he went into the finish of a respiratory failure.
And of course, it isn’t even talked about any more his trying to pass a hot twenty which is what got the police response to begin with. Did the police not recognize a medical emergency, most likely. But no one can say that killed him. He did not die of asphyxiation and the knee was on the back of his neck, not the windpipe as he was talking. The autopsy report from Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office concludes the cause of death was cardiopulmonary arrest, which is the final event of an asthma attack.

I wonder if that’s for patents and name branding.
Next people will be calling a white out in a snow storm a no color out.
“For just a split second I thought this was satire.”
Yup. I was sure this was the Babylon Bee. We are living in bizarro world!
I suppose they are going to come up with an OK euphemism while continuing to sell the products?
Everybody that needs to know knows that the material is “fade cream”
2% hydroquinone is too hard to pronounce to be in the advertisements or name.
