Paris (AFP) -- French cosmetics giant L'Oreal announced Saturday it was removing words like "whitening" from its products, against the backdrop of global anti-racism protests.
"The L'Oreal Group has decided to remove the words white/whitening, fair/fairness, light/lightening from all its skin evening products," the company said in a statement.
Several companies -- including L'Oreal -- have been criticised recently for skin-lightening products after the global rise of the Black Lives Matter movement following the police killing in the US of African-American George Floyd last month.

STOP with this idiotic VIRTUE SIGNALING already!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!
Has Crayola Crayon chimed in yet, to tell us they are only going to make black crayons going forward, and will destroy their inventory of racist white crayons?
So if I have dark blonde hair and I want lighten it what L’Oreal product should I ask for? Should I say I want me hair to be less black?
Toothpaste companies are going to have to get pretty busy.
When are Colgate, Crest (P&G), and the other toothpaste manufacturers going to follow suit?
What do I use for a black eye?
They wouldn’t be selling it if there wasn’t a demand for it.
This is beyond ridiculous.
Bleachiing is still another root word for white.
Just part of the insane mass hysteria that is sweeping the country and activating attacks of White Guiltitis.
Even many Asian women look for products that will lighten their skin tone. L’Oreal is just being totally silly.
Toothpaste going to have to rebrand
That’s “African American” eye you racist POS!
Been using glutathione spray after i go out which is used for whitening in different forms...suddenly i noticed have two big white spots on my front teeth.
Think it might be demineralization but not sure what is causing it.
Asia is big on using glutathione to whiten
Btw...blacks also try to lighten parts of their skin that have darker colorization so they can have more even skin tone
What are they now going to call that product
For just a split second I thought this was satire.
Should I say I want me hair to be less black?
.....................................................
Now you’re getting the spirit!
I don’t think darkening your teeth is going to go over very well.
Its a known fact many blacks try damn hard to liten their skin and there is a slew of products for that and aimed at them.
This is more BS
