Authorities in Wisconsin are investigating a possible hate crime after an 18-year-old Black woman was set on fire.
On Wednesday morning, Althea Bernstein was driving through downtown Madison when she stopped at a red light. Bernstein was sitting at the intersection with her window down when she heard someone yell a racial slur, she told police, CBS News reports.
Moments later, she told police four white men appeared, with one spraying a liquid on her face and neck and throwing a flaming lighter at her. Bernstein told police she was able to drive away and put out the flames, but when she returned home, her mother encouraged her to go to the hospital, where she was treated for burns.
According to hospital staff, the liquid thrown on Bernstein is believed to be lighter fluid.
The following day, Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway released a statement calling the attack a hate crime.
"The City received a report of a violent racially-motivated hate crime that occurred downtown around 1:00 am on June 24, where a group of pedestrians used a racial slur and then lit a woman on fire through her car window as she stopped at an intersection. This is a horrifying and absolutely unacceptable crime that I will not tolerate in Madison," Rhodes-Conway said.
"While we are still learning more about the details, current information suggests this may have been a premeditated crime targeted toward people of color, which makes the incident even more disturbing."

I confronted a ‘now deleted’ friend on fb about this. Asked her what her point was of posting all of these ‘white on black’ crimes. I asked her are you trying to say look how bad writes are. And If whites posted just black on white’ crime woukd that also prove how bad blacks were.
I told her I’m still waiting on her retraction about Bubba’. Tired of their bs. I deleted 40 people off my fb page. I was going to deactivate (again) . But thought I’d first give them the boot. But I didn’t leave quietly. I confronted many first. Screw em. I’ve always been a peace maker. Showed my empathy. I got nothing in return. They don’t want peace. Those involved in BLM are hateful, vindictive racists. It’s taken me a long time to say that. But, as much as I wanted to care - they label with a broad brush. They don’t even try to say ‘some’ They just say ‘whites’. Not caring that they had white friendships and we cared about them as individuals. They are burning bridges and if I can say screw you to them - I promise they have pushed it too far on a personal level. Not even including the protests, destruction, the self centered vitriol.
They are abusive and do not care about you, I, or anyone else. It doesn’t matter how close of friends you are. If they support snd are involved in BLM, just walk away and accept reality. They hate you for your skin color. They are the definition of a racist.

It happened during a night of protests. Protesters were squirting gas from bottles. I bet she got caught up in the riots and is no blaming 4 white men. I can’t wait till she gets outted.
IF she can be found ... rumor has it she is no where to be found ... not exactly a cooperating accuser at this point.
How long until she’s outed as a liar and then how it started a conversation.
