To find out how willing liberal Americans are to jettison the country’s cultural identity, I decided to ask what I thought were outlandish questions,' writes the survey author. 'The answers I received amazed me.'
Seventy percent of self-identified “liberals” want to rewrite the U.S. Constitution “to a new American constitution that better reflects our diversity as a people,” according to survey results published in Quillette this week. Seventy-nine percent of self-identified “very liberal” respondents agreed with this suggestion.
Seventy-six and 81 percent of “liberal” and “very liberal” respondents supported the idea to “Rebalance the art shown in museums across the country until an analysis of content shows that it reflects the demography of the population and perspective of Native people and citizens of color.” Seventy-one and 80 percent of these groups, respectively, supported this idea: “Move, after public consultation, to a new American anthem that better reflects our diversity as a people.”
These were the cultural upheavals that received the highest support among the survey’s 16 suggested options, but liberals in the survey also supported many others. The survey was run by Eric Kaufmann, a professor of politics at Birkbeck College in the University of London, and administered to 870 Americans recruited from the Amazon Mechanical Turk and Prolific Academic platforms that researchers frequently use for such surveys.
“In order to find out how willing liberal Americans are to jettison the country’s cultural identity, I decided, on May 7th, to ask what I thought were outlandish questions…” he wrote. “The answers I received amazed me. I then repeated the exercise on June 15th, after the George Floyd killing and subsequent protests to see whether things had gotten even crazier. It turns out they have.”
“Respondents on these platforms lean young, liberal, and white,” Kaufmann noted, but he wanted that, as these groups are the most politically extreme. After getting the survey results, he focused on the 414 respondents who identified themselves as “liberal” or “very liberal.”
He had asked them to disagree or agree with 16 questions that aimed to gauge support for “a radical blow to American cultural nationhood.” Besides the three mentioned above, the next most supported changes were, in order:

I have a good friend who is a D and quite liberal on some issues, as well as belonging to the IBEW. But he’s also pro-life and pro-gun, proficient in his firearms, and has NO DESIRE to vote for Slow Joe. Some of his other friends, on the other hands (Union co-workers and the like, I guess) are determined to pick Slow Joe. *sigh*
I think your assessment is quite accurate. I would only suggest that Balkanization may be the only think that saves us. To live with these Marxists means to live under their tyranny. They certainly won’t live under our thumb either. If we are to live together one must live under the boot of the other. So far, it’s clear their boot iOS on our necks. Some degree of geographic, social and political separation seems attractive. However, while they hate us they love our resources so they may not let us go.
Agree with your statement regarding the guns being all bluster. I think 90-95% will turn their guns in with the slightest pressure to do so. I did not think that a mere 120 days ago. It’s clear all they have to do is make gun ownership = racism and the average American will gladly sacrifice their firearms on that altar.
Not sure what the path forward is for us but I am sure that we need one and it’s not apparent.

Sorry...don’t agree...see Canada ...what they may try is continuing to tighten WHO can have a gun...but people have seen that coming which is why the millions of purchases have happened over last several years
I hope you’re right, but expect you’re whistling past the graveyard. For years we’ve been fearing the changing demographics of the country, but those changes take time. I’m not sure anyone anticipated the homegrown problems of ‘educated’ white kids, especially young women who have been propagandized into Marxism, and taught to hate their race, their country and themselves. It bumped the demographic switch by about a decade.
Millennials as a group will never vote more than 10-20% Republican, black vote is solidly 90-95% Democrat, in a good year the GOP will pull 30-35% of Hispanics vote, and Asian overwhelmingly vote Democrat. We’re running out of bodies. There are only so many over 50, white folk left and they are not a solid GOP vote bloc like other ethnics are for the Left.
As I said we are surrounded and there is no hidden group of voters out there to ride to the rescue. Demographics and indoctrination have won.
Precisely. If the Democrats get complete control in November that is what we will get.

The changing demographics don’t take much time at all; that is providing a false sense of security. The negative birthrate of Whites for many years is now showing up in the under-20 demographic in particular.
