An overwhelming majority of Americans say they've worn a face mask in public in the last week, as the coronavirus pandemic persists and infections reach new highs in more than a dozen states, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.
Nearly nine in 10 Americans (89%) who left their home in the last week said they wore a face mask or a face covering, compared to only 11% who said they did not.
The latest poll, . . .

Nonsense. The numbers show that countries which mandated mask use early had the best results.
This is fake news. NO way this is true.
“People need to know, the mask mandate is actually a way of conditioning the public for further mandates to come.
“Let everyone know, mandatory vaccinations are coming, so we need to organize ahead of time”
That’s exactly it!!
In a recent article from the Mayo Clinic, it states that face masks combined with other preventive measures, such as frequent hand-washing and social distancing, help slow the spread of the virus. But without the social distancing, and constant cleaning of hands to keep the virus from transfer to the mask, it is not enough to stop the virus.
In a June 2 article from Livesciernce, they inform that a study by the journal of the Annals of Internal Medicine, that surgical and cotton masks do not effectively contain viral droplets containing SARS-CoV-2 and their study results had to be retracted.
Researchers, writing in two new papers, attempt to tackle the efficacy of masks, one more rigorously than the other, and come to differing conclusions. One study examined the effect of masks on seasonal coronaviruses and found that surgical masks are helpful at reducing how much virus a sick person spreads. But not stopping it. The other looked particularly at SARS-CoV-2 and found no effect of either surgical or fabric masks on reducing virus spread. And lately the CDC has championed the use of cloth masks which are no different than N95 in saturation capacity and are still not going to stop the virus. Masks of any kind may slow its transmission by volume, but contact is not stopped due to cloud transmission alone.
As I understand this, if spittle is on the mask that contains a virus, and a cough, sneeze, or fast spin occurs, it is going to “throw” the virus and anything, or anyone, within 6 feet are a target. That distance is where science agrees the virus and it’s carrier settle to the ground or the objects there. So, the mask may slow it, but no one is saying stop it. And whoever touches he area the virus settled, is a target again. A recent study published by researchers at Imperial College London showed that viral DNA left on a hospital bed rail in an isolation room had spread within ten hours to 18 other surfaces, including door handles, chairs in a waiting room, children’s toys and books in a play area. The only “absurd” thing here is your attempt to spread ignorance.
“N95” refers to an OSHA spec; anyone can look it up.

Not FRom what I have seen in Jacksonville!
I’d wager that only 10% or less are wearing a mask in public!
I am particularly amused by the dumbasses wearing a mask who are alone in their car!
Yes, thanks for the post.
I do most of my shopping at the Shoprite next to the Home Depot. Shoprite does enforce the wearing of mask. Good info regarding Walmart.
While I genuinely endorse and applaud your federal lawsuit against Lockdown Larry, I am unable to financially contribute to worthy causes.
Hopefully, your legal action will succeed and Marylanders will be liberated from under Hogan’s heavy thumb!!!
I live two blocks from the Shoprite but refuse to shop there. A member of the Klein family (Owners) said that there is no reason for anyone to own a gun and strongly implied that he does not want the business of gun owners.
So, we comply with his wishes.
Absolute BS.
“If they can get the other 11% to wear a mask in public”
Sure. That 11% is what keeps it going. /sarcasm
Maybe this thing isn’t what has been claimed.
What keeps it going is the liberal desire to hurt the economy and stop Trump rallies.
Thanks for feeding into that crap.
For a ‘re-opening’ to work MORE THAN 11% of the people need to feel safe going into American businesses.
Like you I pay property taxes with the expectation my city will provide police and fire protection for me, my neighbors, and our property...
If I lived in a democrat hellhole that allowed white antifa and black thugs to burn our city, loot our property take over my city I would sue. I would sue until I didn’t have two pennies to rub together. Then I’d find a pro bono type lawyer and start the process over.
Democrats and their thugs have gone too far this time.
*** “You are using the composition fallacy to assume that if a few people are driving in their cars wearing a mask that everyone who wears a mask is an idiot. Not! Nice try!” ***
Nope, this is all I need

It has been 105-110 degrees here. I see some fear-driven people wearing masks all the time...even when they are alone driving their car with the windows closed. Sheesh! Talk about an overreaction. Such incredible sheeple.
Since the advent of free internet tax prep that is true. It still is good to understand what is in the return though. It’s shocking that many people think that a tax refund is a gift from the IRS
I’m definitely an anti-vaxxer if we decide to use any coronavirus vaccine developed in Communist China
That they would even stoop to such a stupid lie amazes me. Even in the most mask-popular areas in the US there has to be more than 10% of folks not wearing them. Any reasonable person can see this is a total lie just by looking out their windows.
And, in places like my neck of the woods, the number of mask wearers is maybe 10%.
Here in Arizona, it’s more like 95%, except in bars and clubs in the party parts of town. There, it’s about 5%.
So sad that people don’t care about their own health and the health of others. Maybe it’ll thin out the gene pool of stupid people.
East Tennessee neither. I’d be willing to believe that people feel compelled to lie about it though.
