Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said Thursday the state will pause its efforts to reopen the economy as the number of confirmed coronavirus infections spikes and hospitals begin to fill.
Abbott has been warning of a mounting catastrophe for days, as new cases rise precipitously in Houston, the Dallas metroplex and in cities like Austin, San Antonio and El Paso.
Abbott said businesses that are already allowed to operate under the current reopening phase will continue to be able to do so.
"As we experience an increase in both positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, we are focused on strategies that slow the spread of this virus while also allowing Texans to continue earning a paycheck to support their families," Abbott said in a statement. "The last thing we want to do as a state is go backwards and close down businesses. This temporary pause will help our state corral the spread until we can safely enter the next phase of opening our state for business."

New media narrative: “Texas failed, New York succeeded. New York will stop and quarantine all visitors from Texas. This shows the wisdom of the Dem governors of the North East.”
Thanks a lot, protestors/rioters.
I still see quite a few New York license plates down here, I wonder if those diseased people are still spreading it to the rest of the country.
They may be seeing a spike in cases, but not in deaths. Not yet, anyway. And I suspect with the warnings about using ventilators and the more widespread use of things like HCQ, I suspect that few of those new “cases” will end up in a spike in the death statistics.
Push widespread prophylactic and treatment HCQ + Zn + Zpak (Zpak if symptomatic).
Do it now!
However the very blue state of California is currently in worse shape than Texas regarding new Coronavirus infections.
Are the hospitalizations due to WuhanVirus?
Or is it because someone came in for another reason and tested positive ?
still not clear on HCQ after FDA made more bs rules...it should be used EARLY so hospitals aren’t bombarded
Only 27% of hospitalizations due to Covid.
Yep. The whole thing would be comical if it wasn’t so serious. The older I get, the less I trust experts because the more evidence they give me to prove I shouldn’t trust them.
Don’t worry—2nd LOCKDOWN is coming! Karens and Fearpers REJOICE! DESTROY EVERYTHING! CHEERS!
Tarrant County (Ft Worth and surrounding smaller cities) has a mandatory mask wearing order starting tomorrow.
IF they’re BLM/Anifa types, just let em rot.
So do Harris (containing Houston and surrounding) and Fort Bend (heavily populated, southwest of Harris) counties. Businesses are enforcers, and businesses get fined if customers and staff are not masked.
Riots didn’t work.
Crank up the case count, ignore the CFR drop, make ‘em wear masks again, and be SURE to mention MAIL IN VOTING as the only safe way to have an election.

ALL DEMOCRAT RUN Shit Holes????
I just looked that the TMC (Texas Medical Center) website it says that they are at 97% ICU capacity of which 27% is for Covid patients, and the rest are for “other” issues.
But what it doesn’t say is are they classifying the “other” as being part of the Covid surge?
Very spotty information at best.
