A Boise State University assistant professor used her publicly-funded email account and access to students contact information to raise funds for a group that seeks to end capitalism and defund police nationwide.
The assistant professor, Les Hutchinson Campos, also offered students tips for protesting without getting caught or injured. She promised additional help to students if they asked.
Im just an email away. And, if you want to talk on the phone or video chat about whats going on, please email me. I have an open schedule to talk with you, Hutchinson Campos wrote in a June 11 email. You all may also use my decades of experience and knowledge of protest and anti-racist organizing should you need it.
Hutchinson Campos, who teaches in BSUs English department, emailed an unknown number of students to raise funds for The Movement for Black Lives. MBL, founded in 2014, is a left-wing group that favors a single reform idea in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, a black man, by a white police officer: End policing in the United States.
We need to start by making the premise clear: Police do not keep us safe, the group explains on its website. By talking about defunding the police, we are talking about building a future where safety actually exists.

Has she been made department head yet? What if someone stared demolishing the colleges and universities?
We really need to shut down our universities. They are nothing more than marxist training camps.
They are everywhere..KTA
Boise is already ruined. Seattle shitbirds headed east.
Why aren't people shutting these reports down ?
OR DEMAND representation of 'Diversity of Thought'... Professors MUST reflect (by law) the American people... and that includes Conservative traditional Americans.
I've taken many classes that have absolutely NOTHING to do with politics and profs from major and minor universities rant ad nauseam their leftist BS and if you say ANYTHING to even ask a question--such as in the case of Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ, I asked "did you see the movie?" (As they were ranting how horrible it was etc and just blasting the film horribly along with bashing Christianity).
The prof. got very angry at me. And told me to leave the class. lol. I asked why would I need to leave the class if he was giving his review of a film and I asked if he'd seen the film? I persisted with my question and it came out he hadn't even seen the film. It was at a private university in Los Angeles. This was after an hour rant from him during what was supposed to be a Master's level English writing class time. When he admitted he hadn't even seen it he looked the fool to us all.
I bet he won’t be fired for it.
But if he said “All lives matter” he would.
‘I bet he wont be fired for it.’
well, ‘he’s’ a ‘she’, so, yeah...
The thing to do anyone who is injured or property damaged by a recipient of this profs email should sue her & the school as an accessary in the action. If the schools are put at legal\financial risk they’ll soon shut this down fast.
I no longer know what defunding means. At one time it meant if your organization/program/position etc was defunded that service was gone. I keep hearing the progressives say defunding does not mean eliminating the police force, they just want to reallocate the funds to social services.
“I have an open schedule to talk with you.” Unless, of course, you want to discuss academics, in which case I’m just too busy for serious students.
