I’m sure the programmers of the GPS know the bad neighborhoods, but aren’t allowed to warn you. Like the readers of Pravda, you have to look for clues like “MLK Blvd” or “Black Lives Matter Avenue” or “The Eldridge Cleaver Academy of Arts and Sciences”.

Garmin (? one of the originals) did, indeed, have a setting to avoid high crime neighborhoods, but removed it as this was deemed raycist.
