I don’t get it. I saw it on TV. Plenty of people in the stadium. Plenty of people outside. As far as I know, this is the first big gathering of any kind (other than riots) since COVID-19 caused the lockdown. I thought turnout was impressive. I enjoyed the speech. Seems like a big success.

Because they have to. Key fact: They tipped their hand. They can’t win honestly. Dishonesty includes not only fake attendees, but votes.

it's a ruse. Even if 90% of the "tickets" were obtained by people that weren't going to go, that still leaves 100,000 people that would attend, or attempt to attend the rally. So it's a moot point - the fake ticket grabbing did nothing to stop people that wanted to go.
What really happened was that protester/thugs were successful in blocking access of many people to the venue - people with families and kids. But most made it in anyway. Obviously, the left doesn't want that narrative to get out, so they do the "ticket" ruse instead.
