If I’m understanding the chain of events in the last 24 hours correctly, it sounds like President Trump had nothing to do with Berman’s original separation at all. I’m not sure what that implies.
I am confident that the President was aware of the plan to replace Berman but left the details to his trusted subordinate. Had Berman acted honorably and resigned when requested, the President would not have needed to be involved. When he chose to stage a public spectacle, Berman found he was not as important as he thought he was.
