This entitlement attitude has been widely accepted. Reminds me of what the good book says:
2 Thessalonians 3:10

“For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.”

EBT, welfare checks, hand outs, etc. has primed sections of society to demand reparations. Big difference between those that can NOT work and those not willing to work.
