Whats so special about that?

The first slave owner in America was black, he had 4 white indentured servants (slaves for seven years) and one black slave (whom he took to court to make him a slave for life).

And then the British used to ‘Jamaica’ Irishmen by enslaving them to work by the thousands in Jamaica.. but whites were considered poor slaves, not as hardy and sold for lower prices, so they shifted to breeding the white female Irish slaves to fetch higher prices from the kids.

Just plain horrible forgotten history.

Slavery (of both Blacks and whites) was horrible.

And what about Europe? The Christian Teutonic knights attacked and enslaved the pagan Latvian tribes in their northern crusades. My grandfather’s grandfather was a slave, my family being enslaved for about three hundred years. Bought and sold, forbidden to have last names, forbidden to leave the farm, forbidden to learn to read and write, hunted for sport and killed if they ran.

Yes I am white, and I am descended from slaves. I even know the name of the German family that formally owned us.

I think in some parts of the NE of Brazil it did work out that blacks descended from slave owners did have plantations worked by largely light skinned Brazilians imported from the Sertano, the outlands. It seems to me that Robert Heinlein, when a junior Navy officer, was on a port visit to one of the NE port cities was invited to spend several days on such an estate. His very black hosts were highly cultured and had all attended an elite university in France. The light skinned Brazilians that worked the plantation were an illiterate and debased peasantry.
