I honestly never even heard of this ‘Juneteenth’ business until they started pimping it somewhere in the news earlier in the week. It must not be of much import to your rank and file blacks, either, or at least it wasn’t until now. I’ve lived on the GA/AL border for 21 years, and one would think that there would have been some mention of it before now. For that matter, Kwanzaa gets less notice here than National Arbor Day. It has the ‘1619 Project’ aroma to it.

It’s pure opportunism, strike while the race riots are hot.
If it were important enough for a national holiday, why didn’t King Obama say so?
