Twitter has flagged a video tweeted by Donald Trump, which contained a fake CNN news segment about a racist baby, adding a warning label that the post contained manipulated media.
The video, which had been doctored to make it appear as if it were a CNN broadcast, features two toddlers running and includes a fake graphic that reads Terrified todler (sic) runs from racist baby. The clip later accuses fake news of spreading misinformation.
Twitter added a label to the video, which was tweeted out by Trump late on Thursday evening, marking it as manipulated. Earlier in the day, Facebook removed Trump campaign ads that prominently featured a Nazi symbol.
This latest move from Twitter comes after Trump signed an executive order last month designed to narrow protections for social media companies over the content posted on their platforms.
Although Twitter had taken a largely hands-off approach to the presidents controversial tweets, in recent weeks the company began adding a label that fact-checked misinformation amplified by the US president, as well as a note cautioning that a post glorified violence.
The companys policy prohibits sharing videos that have been deceptively altered, which is what earned the video sourced from a pro-Trump meme creator a warning label.

No sense of humor, only hate.
It was a bad idea.
Of course the video was deceptively altered. The video makes that clear. That was the whole point of the tweet - to show how videos can be deceptive and to imply that the media is guilty of deception in its news reporting. Way to miss the whole point, Twitter.
It was clearly doctored to make a point....cnn finds negative everywhere and routinely alters reality.
We KNOW this didn’t actually air on CNN.
We aren’t that stupid.
At this juncture it doesn’t matter. Trump has scored his point - all the nags are talking (complaining) about it. Trump wins again.
From PJ MEDIA:
(EXCERPT)
Twitter and the mainstream lying press are working overtime to gaslight Americans into believing that memes are fake news. The president tweeted this hilarious meme by well-known satirist and meme-maker Carpe Donktum on Thursday, which skewered the fake news media narrative and the way they manipulate reality. It is spot-on genius. But journalists are pretending they dont know its a joke.
A point made in absolute truth and fact by The President is dismissed as a fraud and deception, yet destructive and corrosive points made by entire segments of this country entirely provable as fraud (the entire premise of the intentionally fanned racial unrest as embodied in the existence of "Black Lives Matter") are maintained as unimpeachable truth.
And by bringing attention to it, more people will look at it and recognize it for what it is: brilliant trolling satire of CNN.
I was a Twitter user with over 26,000 followers but decided to quit last week . Screw Dorsey .
> Formerly known as a "triangle". Geometry is now racist.
"Yield" signs are now racist, as well.
The video was an exclamation point regarding “fakenews” altering or removing content to create a whole new context
Why is an elderly adult (much less POTUS) sending images of other people’s children?
Whatever political point he is trying to make is lost — just way to creepy and inappropriate
That is an old video - old fake news.
The video is gone now. Totally censored with the copyright excuse. It was obviously satire which is covered under fair use law. Too bad I would have like to see it.
