UN human rights chief says rich nations should pay reparations for slavery as she condemns 'gratuitous brutality' of George Floyd's killing

The UN's human rights chief today urged countries to confront the legacy of slavery and colonialism and to make amends for 'centuries of violence and discrimination' through reparations.

Addressing an urgent debate on racism and police brutality at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Michelle Bachelet called on countries to examine their pasts and to strive to better understand the scope of continuing 'systemic discrimination'.

----------

George Floyd's brother, Philonise Floyd, called on the United Nations to set up an independent commission to investigate the killings of African Americans by police.

He made his speech via video message during the meeting.

'I am my brother's keeper,' he said.

'You, at the United Nations, are your brothers and sisters keepers in America, and you have the power to help us get justice for my brother... I'm asking you to help him.

'I'm asking you to help me. I'm asking you to help us black people in America.

[So every career criminal who dies of a drug overdose gets money now?]

Apparently so. This is why I've said for years, the United Nations awaits their Antichrist; their man of sin, the Beast, the son of perdition (the second one).

I'm sure the false messiah will have a seat at the United Nations. At the head seat, that is. After all, they were looking for someone to reign for ONE 7-year term.

In 2015, the United Nations Elders were seeking a man -----> "and let the successful candidate be appointed for a single, non-renewable term of seven years."

ONE 7-year term - ONE SEVEN YEAR TERM

I don't know if they got their man but that is what they were seeking.

A MAN OF "PEACE AND SECURITY"

"A big part of the problem is that the Security Council, which is supposed to maintain world peace and security"

"And finally, let the Council, and especially its permanent members, make sure the UN gets the kind of leader it needs. Let them respect the spirit as well as the letter of what the Charter says about choosing a new Secretary-General, and no longer settle it by negotiating among themselves behind closed doors."

At $26 trillion, the United States is the poorest country on earth. We should get a pass.

“Yes UN- Sand, pound you will.”
*****************************

Slavery existed a total of 78 years in the United States of America which was established with the signing of the Constitution.

Thomas Jefferson included strong anti-slavery trade language in the original draft of the Declaration of Independence, but other delegates removed it.

Sorry, the United States of Amercia became a nation with the signing of the Constitution in 1787.

Slavery existed in the US for sum total of 78 years.

What other country worked at an finally ended slavery over such a short timespan?

They need to start looking at Spain, Portugal, and other European countries, rather than the US.

In 1794 the US banned American ships from participating in the slave trade and the exporting of slaves from the US by foreign ships.

In 1800 the US banned its citizens from investment and employment in the slave trade.

In 1806 In a message to Congress, Thomas Jefferson calls for criminalizing the international slave trade, asking Congress to “withdraw the citizens of the United States from all further participation in those violations of human rights … which the morality, the reputation, and the best of our country have long been eager to proscribe.”

In 1808 in Michigan Judge Augustus Woodward denies the return of two slaves owned by a man in Windsor, Upper Canada. Woodward declares that any man “coming into this Territory is by law of the land a freeman.”

We fought a massive Civil War in the 1860’s to end slavery.

In 1866 Slavery abolished. US government treaties with the “Five Civilized Tribes” in the Indian Territory (the Cherokee Nation, Choctaw Nation, Chickasaw Nation, Muscogee Nation, and Seminole Nation), which allied with the Confederacy, required all five tribes to abolish slavery for renewed US recognition of their governments.

American Indians had not stopped the ownership of slaves Black or Indian.

So legal slave trading existed for 19 years in the US before it was outlawed.

Slavery continued until 1929 in Persia (Iran and other Muslim countries).

In fact forms of slavery are still practiced in the Middle East.

To quote you again “Yes UN- Sand, pound you will.”

Go talk to Spain, Portugal, the Dutch, and the British that practice slave trading for centuries before the US became a nation. go talk to the countries that made the profits of the dastardly act.

And.....go sue the Muslim countries that continued the slave trade until the 20th century and up until now.

President Trump would do the world a big favor by pulling out all funding and kicking the UN to the curb and back to Africa whence it has performed its worst duties to a T.. Terribly.

It’s really all about taking money from the USA and giving it to those who do nothing to earn money.

So, what about the 1100 years of colonization, enslavement and terror of Europeans by Africans from 700-1800?

Or the same done in Eastern Europe by the various muslim empires?
