Sound strategy. Any adviser that recommends a conservative try to appease the left should be fired instantly. They are left wing plants. The left doesn't want to coexist with the right, they want to destroy the right utterly. They will take your offered olive branch and use it to beat you down even more.
I'm glad Johnson isn't falling for their trap.
