The post Cold War period is now 30 years long. Fat, dumb and happy this country let it’s guard down and the progressive corportists drove their bus right through that opening. Now our country is near gone and we try to deconstruct what happened.
I’m also a retired teacher...sorry but when the Scouts were forced to accept Homosexual and trans gender leaders it was the death nail of the organization. Better to form a group with your friends and neighbors where you have control over who participates. The Scouts are no longer what they were when they were a God loving moral organization!!!
They’re already in bankruptcy. Their creditors should appeal to the judge that they be enjoined from making political policy decisions that could even further reduce their economic viability.
They have been long dead to me.
I look with some sympathy and empathy on those who still try to go forward with Scouting and are still involved.
It reminds me of my NFL viewership.
Several years ago when the kneeling began, I refused to condemn the league for anything more than poor leadership since they were not giving money to organizations such as Black Lives Matter, and left the enforcement of respect for the Anthem and the flag to the franchises. There was a tidal wave of condemnation of the NFL from the right, but I found it difficult to go along with it after nearly 50 years of watching and socializing around it.
Now...it is dead to me, and I had to “come late to the party” on that, but what I see the NFL doing now, promoting...openly promoting a scumbag like Kapernick, and giving money to groups like Black Lives Matters...well...my excuses couldn’t cover that. I am done.
I see the same unfortunate pattern in many that continue to engage and support scouting. They haven’t had their breaking point yet. They still continue to insist it has value (and perhaps in pockets it does) but the Left cannot afford for Scouting to have that value. They will eventually reach into each of those pockets and inject Leftist pus into it.
Having a “Diversity” merit badge, or even having some diversity related piece of crap concept elevated to the level of the Order of The Arrow is one of this injections of filthy liquid leftist pus they are inserting.
I would not be in the least surprised to see a Merit Badge for Sexual Practice. And I am not being facetious. I mean it. And I could see the Diversity and Sexual merit badges being required for advancement in levels too.
My sad expectation is that someday, all those who still advocate for the Boy Scouts in their current iteration will come to the realization that they never left the Boy Scouts...the Boy Scouts left them, and they can figure out how to move forward.
Does it even matter any more? Who is left after the incursion of Sodomites anyway?

I could almost remember it, but reading it saddens be beyond words. In my life, I have seen the points in this oath go from a fine guide to living life for ANYONE, to being something that is unacceptable to society at large.

To many today ESPECIALLY those who wish to drive the agenda of the Boy Scouts, relativism is everything. Everything. Each person gets to define what is moral and what is not, but what is hideous about that is that ALL moralities are DEMANDED to be held equal to all OTHER moralities...unless it is a conservatively based morality. Then, it is a thought crime.

As a matter of fact, after the initial outpouring of conservative condemnation of anyone who gave any money to the NFL in any way, I spent considerable time and research to look at who the NFL was giving money to, and comparing them to another corporate entity which MANY conservatives give far, FAR more of their valuable money to unthinkingly, yet weren’t condemning or pulling their support of: Microsoft and by extension, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
So, back when I was looking at this a few years back, the NFL compared far better in who they were directly supporting and who they gave money to.
At that time, they were giving neither money nor public support to Black Lives Matter. They gave money to a very few entities, and even of those (such as the matching player grants) those could be ostensible community fronts and could be compared to Microsoft giving triple matching funds IIRC to employees who gave money to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Up until the kneeling took place and for at least a year or two after, the NFL had a very limited number of organizations it donated directly to. I believe there were only four of them. (Play 60, Youth Football, Player Matching Grants, and one more, that I cannot remember) but that was it.
But that has all changed in the last two or three years.
So, no. I didn’t miss it. But that is all water over the dam now, with their open support of BLM and donations. So that time and effort I did in research did not go to waste, it served me well to see how conditions changed in the last several years.
Otherwise, like many here, I would have just assumed it was going on all the time.

A lot of the lawsuits are actually due to the sexual abuse rule changes due to the Catholic church. Now you can claim you were molested 40 years ago and sue today.
