Taking my girlfriend to buy her first ever gun this Saturday! It’s going to be a .380. Thinking Ruger LCPII or Glock 42. Whichever she feels more comfortable with.
Glock 42 I bet. The Ruger is small and is hard to control. My wife got her concealed carry permit a year ago. She finally decided on a gun - Sig P238 (.380). She liked the Glock, but the Sig won out. (I ended up buying a bunch of ammo awhile ago as she knew it would be a .380).
There is still ammo to be found online, just a bit higher in price.
Take a look at the Walthers PK 380.
If you are considering the G42, then consider a SigP365 as well.
She should try Ruger LC9 too....only think it has a different model name now....very easy on hands, only slightly larger than LCPII.
Gave my daughters money for LCP’s - one didn’t like bite in hand recoil - LC9 actually easier.
