In the battle between democracy and mob rule, the democrats lost at the polls - so they took to the streets for rioting arson, and looting. It’s time to fire any police chief who won’t negotiate with the terrorists.
Just the latest reason why police chiefs and their departments need to be totally independent of the politically elected city government. Institute direct voter elections for police chiefs as is the case with county sheriffs who are directly answerable to the people. The funding of the police departments also needs an independent funding source so the liberals can’t defund them.
Maybe Property Taxes should be used to fund police departments instead of schools. If the budget for law enforcement is dependent on property values, there would be a real incentive to provide appropriate protection for the community.

Speaking of the governor, it seems like a ripe moment for Virginia Republicans to demand Virginia Democrats join them and demand Northam’s resignation or or impeachment. Anything less would be, well...racist!
