Fox News contributor Trey Gowdy, the former chairman of the House Oversight Committee, joined Hannity Tuesday to discuss the ongoing anti-police protest in Seattle and the conversation surrounding law enforcement reform.
I think that the police in Seattle actually retreated. They surrendered, right? They abandoned the police precinct, Gowdy told host Sean Hannity in reaction to claims that the denizens of the Capitol Hill Organized Protest were peaceful. So if these protesters are really peaceful, I dont know why the police felt that they were in danger or feared for their safety and had to retreat.
The way I look at the world, there are mostly good cops and a few bad, Gowdy went on. There may be many peaceful protesters, but a few bad. I think were better off in society if we individualize it. If youre going to destroy other peoples property and break laws, then you should be arrested. I dont care what park youre in. I dont care what city youre in. [ ]
Most crime is state [or] local. The feds dont get involved in 99 percent of crime. So I think the president should use federal power only if interstate commerce is impacted, Gowdy said. Only if the ability to travel from state to state is impacted. Otherwise, its a Washington problem. They can fix it.

I know this may sound strange but I feel President Trump built this huge sandbox. He is allowing them to play long enough to get dirty and leave enough fingerprints around.
I agree.
Let the liberals in Seattle fight the liberals in Seattle.
I will make more popcorn.
Sending in troops to fix Seattle’s problem of democrat lawlessness is analogous to bailing out bankrupt cities with federal dollars due to democrat fiscal mismanagement.
Voting democrat has to remain it’s own reward.
I agree - Seattle’s problem. POTUS is not their daddy.
Yes, but that is only half of the question. The citizenry in WA has tied hands. It is not justice but militarist kidnapping. What is interesting is the sleepiness of these people there. They are not moving out
I was in Seattle in the 80s and it was offed up then

“Trey Gowdy advises Trump to keep feds out of Seattle standoff: ‘It’s a Washington problem. They can fix it’”
yep,Seattle, you broke it,so you have to pay for it ...
Seattle is being taken over, and Olympia Mayors house was robbed and vandalized by Antica (Communists). The state will either have to call on the NG to save the state, or fall to communism. Let’s watch and see. If it falls, billions of dollars will leave the state overnight, and it will become like North Korea
No they cant fix it! The wont fix it! They will just let it grow out of control and say its the summer of love! But I agree that we should just let them drown in their own crap!
Yep. These squat protests typically go on for months and even years. One in Berkeley about 10 years ago lasted 2 years. And that one was tree sitting!
AG Barr will prosecute the out-of-town, far-left radicals destroying cities
Also, I remember PDJT indicating, maybe on TV today, that protestors in Washington are probably inspiring similar groups in other places to riot.
Insights welcome.
Send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government Democrats and RINOs home in November!
Supporting PDJT with new patriot federal and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping SARS-CoV-2 will effectively give fast-working Trump a "third term" in office imo.
Hannity is jerk that talks about what a badass mma guy he is constantly
You could well be right.
As a Washington resident with several long range rifles, Id rather have my targets in a given area with good backstops.
PSJBGC Im talking directly to your members here.
The round gets there before the report.
Just sayin.
Sleep tight.
I dont want CHOP to go away. Just seeing the updates about this place on Tucker is comical relief. Trump needs to just let this country implode on its own.
Gowdy’s absolutely right. Literally nothing that Trump could do down there would conclusively solve the problem and anything that he did try could easily blow up in his face.
I agree with you two. If you don't shut it down now, it will metastasize.
Also, U.S. Citizen fundamental rights are being denied. It is a DoJ (HA!) case at the very least.
Keep the Feds out unless and until Inslee takes two knees and begs Trump like a baby for help.
If he and that kook mayor manage to handle it without any Feds then so much the better.
Let the city of Seattle stew in this mess until Amazon and Starbucks corporate realize something needs to be done.
