The health “experts” and the media propagating viral panic porn think people like us don’t understand arithmetic. They think they can manipulate headline stories warning of increased cases of COVID-19 in order to push more lockdowns, ignoring all the ways that more cases are being discovered, while the percentage of positive tests, new hospitalizations and deaths, and the lethality of the virus are all waning significantly.

For all the talk about “The Big Lie,” I’ve found that it’s the half-truths and quarter-truths that are even more dangerous.

Daniel is great in this article and also about the monumental error of SCOTUS yesterday re-writing the 1965 Civil Rights Act..just like that to extend to LMNOPQRStuv gays, queers, lesbians and trannies—(unheard of invented rights on the basis of their choice in sexual partners and their alteration of the exterior gender they portray— not on the basis of their actual chromosomal sex as the determinant).
Also ICU use is up because of more elective heart procedures...if you have any heart surgery, you will be visiting the ICU afterwards for at least a few days

The military has a meme that you have to have “the big picture.” People in the trenches usually are not very good at that. One hospital, or one ward, can be real busy and the folks working that unit think the world is coming to an end. No offense but the opinion of one nurse about the whole state is pretty meaningless.

Yes, there are a good share of hospitalizations, but few are BECAUSE of Covid, but many come in WITH Covid. Big difference. It’s all explained.

In Yavapai County (Prescott, Prescott Valley, Sedona, etc.) there are 7 current hospitalizations due to COVID-19. That’s among 235,000 residents and three hospitals with about 350 total beds.
Talked to my nurse neighbor yesterday that said hospitals here still are empty in the D.C. suburbs.
Good link—there has been a mild upward trend in total hospital usage.
That is a better number to watch, since it avoids debates about CV or not CV.
If CV is serious is the state, the trend will be obvious.
They’ve got all summer to fine tune the virus. If it’s bad enough people will fold.

Fingers crossed on this one....DjT hasn’t endorsed it, so Fauxi might give it a fast track......although I’m very suspicious that Big Pharma ash-canned HCQ for $ and may do so again.
Forgot to mention....many of the AZ cases are on our Indian reservations, not in metro areas.
