In the article, it says that 91% of worldwide honor killings are done by Muslims. I think that is an arbitrary distinction. Many frustrated lover killings in the US are done, but called something else.
It’s called a whole bunch of years in prison here. That’s the big difference.
Big difference between an “honor killing” and a murder perpetrated by a “frustrated lover”.

I was thinking of motive and psychological mindset, not local tolerance.
Cooking and cleaning is important.
I was, at the time, deeply in love with my first wife, and I asked her to guess what three words I was thinking of (I Love You, of course). She thought for a moment, and replied, “Sex, food, maid.”

A friend of mine heard a story that Nicole had been passed around to some OJ friend(s), particularly great running back Marcus Allen. (Don't dump on me if it isn't true, the point here is the next remark).
My friend's comment was that OJ had killed Nicole out of insecurity. It was OK for her to date one of his friends, but let her think about going out with a mild-mannered Jewish accountant, and... off with her head. (No substantiation for the second assertion either, but maybe OJ thought there was more between Ron Goldman and Nicole than dropping off her sunglasses.)
Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, the former Chief Justice of Khuzestan Province, considers the occurrence of honour killings to be a serious problem in the province.
He stated that the roots of honour killings in Khuzestan have been ‘institutionalised’ and said: ‘Local custom allows these killings to take place, and the perpetrators of these killings are by no means fugitives.
‘Also, unfortunately, honour killings take place in this province in a very tragic way, and the victims’ family does not normally demand the punishment of the murderer.’
