Journalist Andy Ngo says Seattle's occupied zone is like 'Jekyll and Hyde'
Fox News ^ | June 16 2020 | Julia Musto

There is a stark contrast between how protesters staying at Seattle's "Capitol Hill Organized Protest" zone behave during the day and during the night, according to journalist and author Andy Ngo.

In a Monday interview on "Fox News @ Night" with host Shannon Bream, Ngo explained that the area protesters are calling CHOP could be described as a "sort of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde."

During the day, he said, it could be considered peaceful if one ignored boarded-up businesses or graffiti calling for the murder of police. But when the sun goes down, the "criminal elements come out," Ngo noted.

Wonder how much cash is in the backpacks of “protesters” who are leaving the zone.

The bluest skies you’ve ever seen in Seattle
And the hills the greenest green in Seattle
Like a beautiful child growing up free and wild
Full of hopes and full of fears
Full of laughter full of tears
Full of dreams to last the years in Seattle
In Seattle

What?!?!?
The criminal elements are out during the day too!
Barricading streets and holding property that is not yours is against the law.
…or at least it used to be.

And that mythical land of Seattle past has gone a-glimmering. Oh, it is fine to visit the past, but you can’t live there.

No matter how idyllic it may have been.

The here and now is pretty darned gritty, like Hell’s Half Acre or various ghetto districts that once were rampant in so many cities around the world.

“I’m really trying to process this,” the mayor said Saturday to the Olympian. “It’s like domestic terrorism. It’s unfair.”

You are correct.

It is easy for many (myself included) to sit back and suggest “they voted for it, let them have it.”

However, that ignores the FACT that every American has basic constitutional rights - even liberals in a liberal neighborhood. There is not free and unfettered access to the stores or the homes in this neighborhood. Private property rights are being ignored just as they ignore them by allowing homeless to squat or block on a property.

It is not tolerable. The mayor and the governor of Washington are failing to carry out their most important duty and are thus depriving the residents and businesses in this neighborhood of their most basic rights.

"every American has basic constitutional rights - even liberals in a liberal neighborhood."

No. Liberals have no "rights". They have chosen to reject the Constitution. There are only hiding behind an outmoded system until they can burn it down. Since they want the Constitution "modified" of "Updated", then we can skip the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments, and try them at 3am, arrest them at 4am, and have them dead by dawn.

Their deliberate decisions puts them Outside, in the cold and dark. They can flee, or pay.

They are doing it to us.

Well, in CHAZ or CHOP or whatever this craziness is called they are doing it to themselves.

It is telling that they have not attempted this outside of an area where they enjoy sympathy, a very liberal government, and fawning media coverage.

My city and the suburbs/rural area where I live is fine and 99% of the nation is in the same shape. My community would not tolerate this.

The contrast is stark going into November and I suspect this will be an electoral disaster for the democrats. 99.99% of the country want law and order - peace and prosperity. This is the exact opposite.

You can pick whatever numbers you want, but only an idiot wants chaos in his own community. I think many would tell a pollster or reporter one thing, but in the end they will want law and order.

The Seattle metroplex has close to 4 million people I think. A few thousand anarchists with a larger number of “protestors” is hardly a groundswell of movement.

The fact that most news cameras are focused on it makes it appear much larger and more hysterical than it really is. The American media is specialized in creating hysteria and making things much bigger than they are. All of us, me included, need to keep this in perspective. It’s bad. It’s concerning. However, it is largely confined to deep blue metro areas.

Andy Ngo is an American hero. I don’t agree with all of his positions, but, damn, that boy is brave.
