They’ve conned organization after organization into empowering panels to search out thoughtcrime, and it’s established now that anything can be an offense, from a UCLA professor placed under investigation for reading Martin Luther King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” out loud to a data scientist fired* from a research firm for — get this — retweeting an academic study suggesting nonviolent protests may be more politically effective than violent ones!
Taibbi then examined what’s been happening within the media itself. “By my count, at least eight news organizations dealt with internal uprisings (it was likely more). Most involved groups of reporters and staffers demanding the firing or reprimand of colleagues who’d made politically ‘problematic’ editorial or social media decisions.” Taibbi lamented at the Intercept writer Lee Fang being denounced as a racist for daring to ask if a black life only matters when a white man takes it.
Where has Taibbi been all these years when conservatives were branded racist for opposing racial quotas and taxpayer-funded abortion. Where was Taibbi when Republican support for Voter ID was was likened to Jim Crow laws? Or 2007 onward when Republican opposition to Barack Obama was branded racist by default? How many years now have black Republicans been dismissed as “Uncle Toms” and token blacks?

It is the truth that the white progressive dares not to utter.
Nothing is stranger in these tense days than the monotony of the inexact and non-descriptive mantra of “white privilege” and “white solidarity”—as if there is some monolithic white bloc, or as if class matters not at all.
In truth, the clingers, the deplorables, the irredeemables, and Joe Biden’s “dregs” have very little in common with those who so libel them, but superficially share supposedly omnipotent and similar skin color.
In the past, we saw such tensions among so-called whites in CNN’s reporting of the allegedly toothless rubes at Trump rallies, in the Strzok-Page text trove about Walmart’s smelly patrons, in the callous coastal disregard for the five-decade wasting away of the American industrial heartland, in the permissible elite collective disparagement of Christian evangelicals, and in the anthropological curiosity about and condescension toward such exotic, but presumably backward, Duck Dynasty and NASCAR peoples.

A different perspective. Liberals have had institutional power for two generations. They control the message K-college and from media to entertainment.
They don’t just believe their branding. The young adults raised in this cultural stew draw their identity and morality from it. Social justice is liberal political dogma invested with religious levels of devotion. Hence the reversion to social controls we associate with religion from shaming to shunning to hatred of the unbelievers.
And then they live in such a cultural immersion that they act as if the hateful stereotypes they were taught were true. And they never get corrective feedback. That’s a stupid bigot talking, those are hate facts.
When you’re in a bubble, you tend to drift to the extremes. This is why even classic feminists like Camille Paglia, Germaine Greer and now JK Rowling can get “Canceled”, while liberals at Huffington Post openly talk about shutting down blacks criticizing BLM / Antifa violence.

While I agree with that, I do think this situation certainly
does clarify things for those were had a magical almost
artistic vision of what the Left could accomplish.
Now it’s out there. Everything the Right said about the Left
and people dismissed, has been proven to be true over the
last month or so.

they have plenty of awareness of exactly what the left is all about and how corrupt it is.
