To be clear, based on the complaint unsealed today, eBay executives were not just unhappy about the victims' coverage, they were enraged. One of those executives texted that he wanted to, crush this lady, he said. (Snip)
Several of the defendants allegedly drove to the victims home several times, with Harville and Baugh intending at one point to break into the victims garage and install a GPS tracking device on their car, officials said.
Federal investigators said the defendants also tried to lie to police about eBay's involvement and pretended to offer the company's assistance with the alleged harassment

Sorry?! Did they fire and reprimand the abusive employees?
These executives were eventually fired after the police investigated despite the attempt at obstruction.
They were NOT FORMER employees at the time they took these actions. They were only fired because THEY GOT CAUGHT.
Yup
What were the comments that made them collectively lose their minds? I noticed that detail just happens to be missing.
Whatever it was, they must have struck a nerve, thus the hysterical, sicko pushback.
I tend to think it was more than they didn’t like the font styles or page layouts used on the company website.
If somebody told me this had happened to them, would find it hard to believe, but apparently it did happen.
That’s a sure-fire way to disappear forever in my neighborhood.
I’m pretty sure the publication is ecommercebytes - the couple who own it live in Natick, MA. I’ve read that publication for many years. IMO, their coverage of news about various online sales sites has been fair - they have both positive and negative stories. I don’t recall any criticisms that would be deserving of such harrassment. Wenig, the CEO under whose watch this happened, did not take kindly to criticism.
The CEO encouraged and approved of this through policy that was audited each year.
I bid $10 for the movie rights to this story. /sarc
That is insane.
So you want to get to the bottom of this? Alright. Here’s some retro FReeper work. Read all of the following quoted from the article.

“Wenig, a former Reuters CEO, joined eBay in 2011 and had held the top job since July 2015...During his tenure as chief executive, Wenig spearheaded efforts to modernize eBay and court younger shoppers, including a site redesign and the implementation of artificial intelligence for shopper insights...On Twitter, Wenig praised eBay as a pioneer of responsible big tech.
EBay is an example of why we shouldnt give up on big tech companies, he tweeted. It stands for economic democracy, and has a culture and community that are examples of how technology can enable, empower and bring us together. I will always, always be in eBays corner.”
Former Reuters CEO, good catch!

Instead of jury trials, everyone should be mailed a ballot with three choices, guilty, not guilty, and mentally ill but still guilty as hell.
They also sent porn to multiple neighbors like there was a delivery address mix up. True and utter scum.
Freegards
Sounds like 12 year old boys running the company.
These deliveries included fly larvae and live spiders, a box of live cockroaches, a sympathy wreath on the occasion of the death of a loved one, a book of advice on how to survive the death of a spouse, pornography mailed to their next door neighbors but in the couples names, Halloween masks featuring the face of the bloody pig, and the pig fetus which was ordered, but after an inquiry by the supplier, thankfully, wasnt ever sent.
