The Atlanta Police Department is battling growing unrest in the City and plummeting morale. As a result, 19 officers have resigned in the last week. ...
The announcement came just moments after Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms addressed the growing chaos that has erupted in the past month due to protests, violent demonstrations, the tasing of two college students by APD officers, and most recently the killing of Rayshard Brooks.

Tell the truckers. They might not want to go to Atlanta (along with Minnehahapolis and CanYouDigItStan in Seattle) if this stuff continues.
I hadn't thought of that. When I said my buddy was full of testosterone, I meant he liked acting macho. Although he did use a lot of drugs during high school, he passed out a lot in my car from drugs. But cleaned up before becoming a cop. During the time he was a patrolman in the worst areas of SF, he got assigned a female partner. That pissed him off, because he felt she wasn't contributing enough in handling lawbreakers, indirectly led to him wanting to be solo by becoming a motorcycle cop, which he enjoyed (except for a bad accident to recover from).
Yes. That’s the video. That woman is strong. Look at the size of that table. And she still held onto her pocket book.
Definitely wouldn't want to mess with her!
Seriously.
Lance Bottoms? That’s violent right there. A knife in the tush can’t be fun./s
Forgive me. Just turned 60 today and denying all this crap in my mind for one day.

It’s a hypothetical situation. I’m hoping non-liberals on here can think abstractly, because I know from experience that liberals are unable to.
Yes I do
Go through all the wealthy communities in New Jersey, all white or asian, but majority is white, all “leftists” these town are always blue to some degree.
They will advocate more housing for the poor, but not in their neighborhoods. They will always “buy out” there share, so if NJ says hey Apline, you have to build 10 low income housing units, Alpine goes to Asbury Park and says hey, would you take $2.5 million to take our low income housing units? Asbury Park says, heck yes. Alpine raises property taxes and send the poors down to Asbury Park. The state did catch onto this to some degree and would say to Alpine, hey, you actually have to build some units in your town. So the next round of 10 they build them behind some gas station, industrial or transfer station away from the toady McCastles and estates cause, you don’t want the poors living next door.
However these same people in Alpine, who are the judges, politicians etc in the state will require a working class town like Manchester to take 50 units, the people in Manchester complain and the white limousine leftists of Alpine will say “look at all of you racist Trump supporters who don’t want the low income people living in your communities”. Manchester isn’t going to raise taxes to push the poors into Asbury Park so they take the 50 units and they get built in the middle class communities.
It is how the system works in NJ
If the poors knew how it actually works, they would be in Trenton burning down the state house
Ah, getting down to the root of the problem. Sir Robert Peel, the first policeman, laid out nine principles for policing. It is interesting to read these and compare with current policing methods, it is quite educational.
I'm having a hard time getting from a drunk in a drive-thru to a dead drunk in the street. What I see is a drunk, the police come, they leave, and the drunk is dead in the street. What happened? A lot of things that can be endlessly debated, like the quarterback's call that lost the game that you talk about around the water cooler. But in the end, the police came, they left, and a man was dead in the street. That is not a good outcome, and the reason for the saying that nothing can be made better by calling the police.
Personally, it looks like the 'Don't resist arrest' policy needs rethinking. The drunk could have been a 'three strikes and you're out case' so of course he was not happy. And if you watch the vid, you can see the police acting professionally right up to the time with the policeman says 'Turn around.' That is where the situation went south. The policeman ceased treating the man like a man, and began treating him as a convict...which he was. But the man was not going to stand for that and so a world of shit ensued. Again, personally, if the policeman had explained, man to man, what was going on, and what he planned to do, there may have been a different outcome. In the course of my life, I have learned it is perilous not to show respect to another man. And personally, it appears that is what happened here.
As I thought.
Easily 25% could go this week if they keep getting hammered.
A much, much larger number resigned, however they have remained in place because they want the paycheck. Ask them to stick their necks out in an emergency and the response will be “Wait till I finish this donut.”
Hmmm. That might pose a fairly severe budgetary problem.
