School is cancelled for the East Hartford Public School... I cheered when I heard that... Loved school but hated most of the kids. My 6th grade teacher was a boxing can and my principal for 6th, 7th and 8th was Ella Grasso's husband.

LOL! Oh, I know what WTIC 1080 AM is, Political Junkie Too. It's the radio station I grew up most of my life listening to, and it's currently the station I listen to Rush Limbaugh on.
I grew up listening to the great Bob Steele... heard him every morning before I went to school, during summertime, even on Christmas mornings.
I was confused as to what Deplorable American 1776's comment about "WTIC on the banner" meant. I guess he meant WTIC was listed up on some banner on Rush's home page? I don't really know. I really should get into the habit of checking Rush's site just before he goes on air, I guess.

Yes, I've been noticing Rush looks quite a bit thinner these days. I admit I'm worried about that...
My husband grew up in California, he never got to enjoy even ONE snow day, lol. Of course he and his family had BBQs on Thanksgiving and Christmas... and all winter long.
Besides the school cancellations and silly songs, I also liked Bob Steele's Word of the Day, jokes, whistling and occasional commentary. He was truly one of a kind.
If Bob Steele could hear some of the idiots, awful commercials and horrible news readers who constantly screw up and mispronounce names on WTIC 1080 now, he would turn over in his grave. :-(
