While I’m sensitive to the notion of the court acting as a Legislative body and I appreciate Alito’s dissent in that spirit, I think the SCOTUS made the right call in this instance.

In this day and age, civil rights are human rights. Who anyone chooses to love or sleep with should not be a factor in the eyes of the law. That sort of prejudice, which is all that it is, runs counter to the guiding principles of equal protection under the law and the notion of due process.

This decision doesn’t force employers to do anything. It prevents them from firing employees already acting in that capacity based solely upon sexual orientation. This shouldn’t have needed to be done. Our humanity and compassion should not have needed this sort of check and balance.

The fact of the matter remains, that if someone is so closed minded, prejudiced and hateful as to fire someone simply because they are gay, then chances are that same person will easily fabricate a bonafide reason to fire that same person.

I think SCOTUS got it right.

Stick your liberal psychobabble where the sun don’t shine.

We’re way beyond just plain old gays now.

This ruling also extends to the “transgender” myth. What this means is that mentally ill men who want to be women can now put on a dress, or mutilate their body, and they HAVE to be teachers, nurses, child care workers, etc.

No normal person can rightly think it’s a good idea having a man in a dress cleaning your wife, daughter, or grandma’s private parts in the hospital.

You closet libs are always telling us “it’s not as bad as all that” and yet it always is and worse.

Yikes realize this means the SC just declared pedophiles as a protected class, right?

That’s exactly how their reasoning works because sexual attraction is a protected CLASS

You should be able to fire or hire someone for any damn reason you please. It is the employer’s job to do whatever they want with.

And yes I despise the who alphabet soup of sexual identifiers. They make me want to vomit.

Private businesses should be able to hire, fire, and serve any person they choose based on any reason they choose. Only government should be covered by anti-discrmination laws. We have lost freedom of association and government is now controlling our lives and businesses.

“Who anyone chooses to love or sleep with should not be a factor in the eyes of the law.”

Well, that’s exactly what this decision does: force the law to take that into account. Two people can go to court with the exact same circumstances, and one will lose their case, while the other will win, simply because of what they choose to do in their bedroom at night. That is justice to you?

“This decision doesn’t force employers to do anything.”

Nonsense, you just don’t realize all the ramifications of this decision. You can operate your business exactly as you always have, not caring for anyone’s preferences at all, and you’ll still be liable to be sued if the government decides that you didn’t hire enough freaks. They won’t have to prove that you even thought about the matter at all, they only would have to show that your company employs a few percent less of them than their portion of the population, and you will lose and be forced to let the government interfere in your business decisions.
