So I can attack cops, take their weapons and their right to defend themselves is gone because they are cops.
All because I was going to get carted off for DUI.
That would be a tough argument in my neck of the woods.

Maybe the cops saw this perps prior arrest record when they ran his plates.. lets see what it says. Maybe he had prior for attempted murder of LEO’s.

You are asking officers to do the impossible. They contact the guy, all is peaceful until they have to arrest him. Then the cops are fighting for their lives with a powerful man who is trying to take their weapons and kill them.
He gets a weapon (the cop who shot might not have known in the confusion whether it’s a taser or a gun) and fires it at the officer, then starts to turn.
The officer has to decide now or perhaps die, shoot or don’t shoot.
And he’s “over the top” if he shoots?
