I can see both sides of the SWAT team and no knock issue. But the bottom line is this—we are about to see a replay of the Ferguson Effect, where the cops simply refuse to enter risky situations in a timely manner when they know the bosses don’t have their back. The donut and coffee shops should do a booming business. (Every academic expert denies the Ferguson Effect exists—but it is as real as the sun rising in the morning and the sun setting in the evening.)“

Unfortunately there is a hidden truth in the otherwise fake BLM agenda. The truth is the police are not racists using excessive on blacks. The police are using excessive force on everyone. Since the advent of SWAT the police have morphed from peace officers who trust citizens and see members of the community as the boss to whom they serve to “law enforcers” ( emphasis on force) who see themselves as soldiers with citizens being threats.

The real problem is so few people can see the truth.

The police are at war with the people. Notice I said police not individual officers.

At this point the only way to stop this warrior mindset of law enforcement is to take away the ability to make war. That starts with getting rid of no knock warrants and SWAT teams. Next ban police from possesion of ANY military weapons and equipment. That includes AR15s, M16s, flash bang grenades, and on and on. Lastly police should never wear any color other than blue.

We can keep our country safe with peace officers who trust the public and are appropriately equipped with civilian only weapons ( pistols, shotguns and non military rifles).

I mostly agree with your post, but I am going to suggest a few things that deserve argument.

First, while this may not apply universally to all police departments, I would not send police into areas where they are outgunned, and in many places, tactical rifles would be the only way to match the gangs.

Second, most police do not receive the level of training SWAT trained police get. So call them SWAT or something else, I think that training is important for police to master if they are going into gunfights. Maybe they should not be sent out as SWAT teams, but SWAT officers can help solve difficult shooter problems quickly and with minimum loss of civilian life.

But overall, yes, police are no longer part of the community in most areas, but instead are at odds with the people, always apprehensive and necessarily, in many cases, suspicious of the people they are supposed to protect.
