Gambling keeps the NFL alive in the interests of many but the NBA is a self-righteous bore that was once destined for the graveyard in the late 70s when the Finals were shown on tape delay in some markets. Then came the shiny 80s with the advent of cable TV, marketing of personalities in major markets and America feeling good about itself and that helped the NBA grow enormously. That growth continued over the decades but the personalities dwindled to a handful and eventually hopefully should fizzle. It is apparent these clowns do not like you, the consumer. Burn your jerseys, cancel cable, whatever it takes to relegate these blowhards from the penthouses to the back alleys where they belong.

Some of the commentators on ESPN radio seemed to think the owners would tear up the contract with the NBA players' association, if the players don't play in the resumed NBA season. I don't know, but if the financial losses become too great they just might do it.
The owners can't keep paying full salaries unless they play games and draw large TV audiences, and large live crowds once that is resumed.

I have never in my life watched a professional basketball game. They should just put 100 points on the board for both teams and 5 minutes on the clock. Can’t stand watching over paid grown men run back and forth.
