Pop star Taylor Swift went on a ten tweet rant Friday demanding her fellow Tennesseans help “retroactively change the status of people who perpetuated hideous patterns of racism from ‘heroes’ to ‘villains'” by removing statues of Edward Carmack and Nathan Bedford Forrest, two pro-slavery figures whom Swift failed to identify as Democrats.
“As a Tennessean, it makes me sick that there are monuments standing in our state that celebrate racist historical figures who did evil things,” Swift’s rant began. “Edward Carmack and Nathan Bedford Forrest were DESPICABLE figures in our state history and should be treated as such.”
“Edward Carmack’s statue was sitting in the state Capitol until it was torn down last week in the protests. The state of Tennessee has vowed to replace it,” the Grammy-winner continued. “FYI, he was a white supremacist newspaper editor who published pro-lynching editorials and incited the arson of the office of Ida B. Wells (who actually deserves a hero’s statue for her pioneering work in journalism and civil rights).”

For what it's worth, one of my ancestors faced Nathan Bedford Forrest in battle, twice (lost the first, won the second), and my Dad trained for WWII, in part, at Camp Forrest in Tennessee.
But I am very interested in Taylor Swift's... ah, opinions.

There was a time on this website before she went full dim where she was praised and defended. I was never a big fan of hers but acknowledged she had some talent as a singer and there was no arguing she was a huge success.. Before she went full dim she didn’t speak much about politics but there were calls for her to get political from leftists which she resisted. Those leftists must have known her true leanings long before today.
This years Brittney Spears makes demands on Nathan Bedford Forrest based on 3 seconds of what she’s seen on Forrest Gump. NBF while the father of the Klan, denounced them when they started going ANTIFA and was the first Confederate to champion civil rights for former slaves. This psudo Tennessee idiot and that other moron Gov. Bill Lee need to read a history book or 2!

To my knowledge, there has never been a statue built to honor the second or perhaps third most important political and military leader: Judah P. Benjamin, who was Jewish.
A lawyer and politician who was a United States Senator from Louisiana, and a Cabinet officer of the Confederate States.
He successively held the Cabinet positions of Attorney General, Secretary of War, and Secretary of State of the Confederate States of America.
After the war he moved to Britain and became a barrister.
A statue erected to him would have everything that Democrats hate.
When all of those bad statues are gone, like peace will reign, and we’ll like all live happily ever after.
In addition to his post-war terrorism, Forrest committed well-documented war crimes during the Civil War (e.g. Fort Pillow) and should have been hanged as a war criminal.
