Do they really need a fire station? When was the last time a building burned in the center of a city. OK, when was the last time a building burned when the fire department was allowed to put out the fire rather than letting it burn for social justice.

I have a hunch the fire fighters told the mayor things are to hostile and wouldn’t go into the zone to fight a fire.
Now that it has been ceded over to the protesters ...when a fire breaks out and is not responded to it cannot be blamed on racism.

True; many of these paid firefighting jobs are just makework. When NYC lost 343 firemen on 9/11, the next mayor (Bloomberg) was asked when they were going to fill those positions. He responded that they weren’t going to; the city had been looking to close firehouses for years, and there was no reason to replace them.
