Why don’t they just come out there with kneeling rugs and bow down to Mecca? Submission had become so much more important than respect.
America becomes truly alienated with a sport that was once considered to be a great unifying factor of American culture.
Maybe NFL football needs to have another sort of affirmative action in the interest of fairness.
We need a far more inclusive and enlightened form of affirmative action in football.
Namely, the NFL should let neither competence nor race determine who gets multi-million dollar NFL player contracts.
Seems that a lot of mediocre-but-hard-working players have been discriminated against due to their lack of body weight and/or height.
I vote that the NFL set an aggressive policy to limit overall team body weight and height. In the interest of better reflecting the average American’s height and weight, they should not discriminate by hiring people of the best ability.
The current system is evil because it’s driven by the capitalist sin of hiring people who are the best at what they do. We need to correct that problem and move to a more egalitarian and socialist system that “levels the playing field” so-to-speak.
Think of it this way. Across the United States, kids playing soccer and softball are given “participation trophies” to reward their efforts. By giving professional athlete recognition to these sports participants, we spread the “good cheer” and send a message of hope that failure and incompetence can be fulfilling and be rewarded after all. It’s a great unifying message for our nation.
For this campaign, I recommend using the catchy slogan of “Short Athletes Matter” to drive public awareness for the policy change.
What’s more, up to now, women and trans-athletes have been totally excluded from NFL participation. That needs to change. And I think “Short Athletes Matter” will help correct this injustice.
By removing the prejudice of competence and “ability to win games”, we open up the sport of football to the same rigorous egalitarianism that has been so successful in the academic world and government.
